UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers showed another side of her burgeoning career when she was featured on the cover of fashion magazine "HighSnobiety" titled 'The Paige Bueckers Edit.' On Friday, the Huskies star who is under pressure to deliver for coach Geno Auriemma's team next season was back at work training with the basketball coach known as 'the guard whisperer' on Instagram.
The coach posted pictures from training with the Huskies star on his Instagram stories showing her studying tape and working out at the gym. He captioned them:
"The best studies," he wrote.
"Lions den @paigebueckers."
She will be under pressure to lead the Huskies back to the promised land of a national championship next year.
Paige Bueckers details life goals at the ESPYs
Paige Bueckers has shown that she knows how to have fun and do it while dressed to the nines. She attended the 2024 ESPY in an eye-catching outfit, a lilac KidSuper suit designed by Colm Dillane paired with Jimmy Choo loafers.
The Huskies star was nominated for the best comeback athlete after recovering from two season-ending injuries to finally play a full season without injury since her freshman year.
She was up against the likes of Joe Flacco, Zion Williamson and Simone Biles who ultimately won the category. Bueckers also presented the Gatorade Player of the Year Award at the show.
During an interview on the red carpet, Bueckers detailed her privilege and her life goals, saying:
"I was very blessed and fortunate, I never had to worry about food on my plate, a roof over my head," Bueckers said. "So to be able to give back with what I've been given is the main goal and opportunity that I want to share with others.
And continue to do my part in helping this world to become a better place and use my platform for good," Bueckers said. "All while continuing to be a great teammate, a great leader. And balancing both basketball and everything else."
Bueckers already won all the individual awards a student-athlete possibly could during her breakout freshman year in 2021 but after being hampered by injuries, she has taken a backseat compared to other stars like Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark.
With the duo's departure to the WNBA, Bueckers is well poised to once again become the toast of women's college basketball. While she was expected to declare for the 2024 WNBA Draft, Paige Bueckers surprised fans by opting to return to UConn for an extra year.
