UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers was the only one of the trio of close friends who remained in college basketball after her best friends, Nika Muhl and Aaliyah Edwards, declared for the 2024 WNBA Draft and were picked by the Seattle Storm and the Washington Mystics, respectively. The Huskies star has shown her support for her friends in the past few months by attending their WNBA games.

The $1 million NIL-valued Bueckers (as per On3) and Muhl posed for a car selfie that was posted on an Instagram fan page.

It was captioned:

"Paige & Nika reunion❤️."

The two wore black tops and necklaces, with Muhl wearing a white bucket hat. Meanwhile, Bueckers struck a pose by furrowing her brow with a slight pout.

Paige Bueckers and Nika Muhl share unique bond

Over their shared UConn careers, Nika Muhl, Paige Bueckers and Aaliyah Edwards formed a strong bond and became best friends while leading the Huskies on the court.

While speaking to reporters after winning the Big East championship game, Muhl gushed about her relationship with Bueckers showing just how close they had grown.

"I'm just so grateful and thankful to the universe that I was able to get out and come across a person like that. I mean thankful to coach for recruiting us at the same time and bringing us here. That's my best friend, my sister," Muhl said.

Nika Muhl, Paige Bueckers and Aaliyah Edwards were all part of the same recruiting class in 2020 after which they started growing close even as Bueckers immediately became a star.

The other two worked their way into starting status for coach Geno Auriemma and carried the Huskies when Bueckers got injured.

Through her persistent ACL injuries, Edwards and Muhl helped to anchor Bueckers by her own admission and just before the Final Four clash against the Iowa Hawkeyes, she highlighted just how tight the trio was.

“Nika and Aaliyah are like my sisters. They're my bridesmaids. I want them to be like my kids’ godparents, like godmoms,” Bueckers said per CT Insider. “We've built such a strong relationship ever since we came into UConn together as freshmen and it means everything to be here, especially with all the blows we were dealt."

In April, Paige Bueckers accompanied her best friends to the 2024 WNBA Draft and applauded them for being picked by WNBA teams.
