Paige Bueckers took some time off her busy schedule to spend time with her younger brother. The UConn guard posted a picture on her X (formerly Twitter) with her sibling as they watched Team USA women's basketball at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.

"A perfect date," she wrote in the caption.

Paige Bueckers is the only child of Amy Dettbarn and Bob Bueckers. The two divorced when she was three years old, and they each went on to have children in other relationships their own. On her father's side, Bueckers has a younger brother, Drew. On her mother's side, she has a younger brother called Ryan and a sister named Lauren.

After the divorce, Bob stayed in Minnesota, where Paige also remained while her mother moved to Montana. She has a close relationship with Drew, who often accompanied their father to the guard's games and cheered from the sidelines.

In May, Bueckers posted a dance with her brother on TikTok, much to the joy of fans. During the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020, the guard spoke out about her concern for her brother's safety. She wrote in the caption:

"At what point do they stop looking at my little brother as a cute little boy and instead as a threat to society? It scares me. I’m going to work for change little brother.
"I want you to grow up in world that accepts you for who you are. I am committed to help making a change for the better. It’s time to step up and act in unity because WE ARE THE CHANGE"

Paige Bueckers' father, Bob, talks about his pride in his daughter always taking a stand

Bueckers has always been known to advocate for her fellow athletes. In 2021, when she won an ESPY for Best Women’s College Athlete, Bueckers used her acceptance speech to push for equal attention to all players, especially Black athletes.

She acknowledged the privilege she has as a white athlete in a predominantly Black sport and pledged to fight for social justice. In a 2022 interview with CT Insider, Bob Bueckers revealed that such acts come naturally to his daughter:

“People say things like, ‘She really handles herself well’ … She doesn’t have to handle herself. That’s just her. And that’s what I like. She is confident in who she is and doing it in a positive way.
"She fights for what she feels is right, which are a lot of things true to my heart, too — people who are struggling, social injustice — but this isn’t a made-up Paige for Twitter or Instagram. This is just who she is. As a parent, as her father, that’s amazing to see.”

As she continues to conquer each level in college basketball, Bueckers also consistently advocates for her fellow athletes. She has even stated that she does not want to be the face of the league as many predict her to be, but that she would rather share the spotlight with everyone.
