LSU coach Kim Mulkey is well-known for her vibrant and stylish sideline attire. For the Tigers' matchup against Grambling on Sunday, Mulkey debuted a yellow sweatshirt adorned with a large LSU logo.
On Tuesday, the four-time national champion coach, who led the Tigers to a 71-66 victory over the Grambling State Tigers, shared snaps giving fans a close-up view of her eye-catching outfit for the game. The bright sunny yellow hue pops against the classic LSU purple and gold color scheme, making the logo stand out.
Kim Mulkey tagged LSU graduate Jaime Glas Odom in the story, indicating that the sweatshirt is from her "Queen of Sparkles" clothing brand. Mulkey, the fourth-year coach for the Lady Tigers, paired the top with dark pants and yellow shoes.
No. 4 LSU improved to 11-0 on the season following the win over Grambling in Bossier City, LA. Senior guard Aneesah Morrow led the way for LSU, scoring 26 points, grabbing 16 rebounds and tallying four steals. Flau'jae Johnson also filled the stat sheet with 20 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Kim Mulkey wants to be a positive for all Louisiana-based schools
Since taking over as the LSU coach in 2021, Kim Mulkey has worked tirelessly to promote and advocate for not just her team but also all athletic programs in the state of Louisiana.
She has ensured that her Lady Tigers play at least one Louisiana-based school each season, giving smaller programs valuable in-state exposure. For this campaign, Mulkey scheduled nonconference matchups against Grambling and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.
In the postgame interview, Mulkey revealed she also wanted her alma mater, Louisiana Tech, on the schedule.
"First of all, I want to thank Grambling for playing us. I tried to get my own alma mater, Louisiana Tech, to play us, and they wouldn't," Mulkey said (0:58). "I came back to LSU, and I think if you go back to my press conference, I said I want to be a positive for the state of Louisiana.
"I want to help everybody. I think we played just about every school in the state with the exception of a few. So, I want to thank them for playing us. I think it also benefits them to be on a stage like this."
Kim Mulkey played for the Lady Techsters from 1980 to 1984 and later worked as an assistant coach for them, winning the national championship in 1988. She spent the next 21 years as the Baylor Bears coach before coming back to Louisiana for the LSU job.
