Azzi Fudd is back with Paige Bueckers and the rest of the UConn Huskies squad after being sidelined with a torn ACL last season. This was her third injury in three seasons at UConn. Previously, Bueckers missed her sophomore season with a torn ACL. Meanwhile, Ice Brady's college debut in 2022 was postponed by a year due to a dislocated patella in her right knee.

The three players, who each faced knee injuries in the past, came together for a TikTok video that used the "we got what you looking for" audio.

In the caption, it said:

"I need three baddies with bad knees."

Fans in the comments laughed at the three players' sense of humor, but also prayed for their health.

"Protect them knees this szn pls and thank yew," one fan wrote.

Paige Bueckers is making the best of her first healthy offseason

After a successful freshman debut, Bueckers' offseason has not been the healthiest. Fortunately, this year has been different. Bueckers commented on the positive development during an interview with the Hartford Courant in June:

“I’m enjoying it, being healthy for the entire offseason, just working on getting stronger, that’s a huge thing I’m working on. And working on my game. I haven’t had a lot of time in my college career in the offseason to work on my skills, work on my weaknesses and get better in my strengths.”

She added:

“It has been a learning process. I never really had this sort of frame and this muscle strength to use my body in this way. I was always like agile and sort of wavy. Now I feel I can play with more force, use my strength on both sides of the ball, play more physically."

Bueckers played her second full season last year where she averaged 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.2 steals. This could be her final season with the UConn Huskies, and she is preparing for a potential transition to the pro level.

“At every level, high school to college, college to the pros, the level of physicality rises, so it’s just trying to continue to prepare my body, continue to stay healthy, continue to do everything in my power to be ready physical-wise, muscle-wise. It’s walking the fine line. You don’t want to lose your speed, lose your quickness or lose your agility, but you want to add strength and muscle,” Bueckers continued.

Bueckers is predicted to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA draft. Before that, she must win the NCAA championship to establish herself as UConn's best.
