LSU star Flau'Jae Johnson has continued to break ground in her music career. On Wednesday, the junior forward released a new version of her hit song with Lil Wayne, "Came Out A Beast," on Instagram.
In the video, Johnson rapped the song while playing with a ball in the LSU locker room, training facility and outside the university campus, a reflection of her commitment to blending both basketball and music careers.
Fans were impressed by the latest release and shared their thoughts in the comment section. Johnson's stepdad, Ameen Brooks, also took to the comments and wrote:
"HER......#mogul4 🔥💜‼️
Johnson first released "Came Out A Beast" on her debut EP, "Best of Both Worlds," in June. On Aug. 26, a music video was released, featuring actors and actresses portraying LSU icons like Shaquille O'Neal, Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow and Olympic gold medalist Sha'Carri Richardson. The video also featured LSU coach Kim Mulkey and some of her teammates.
Meanwhile, Johnson has maintained that playing basketball is the foundation of her career.
“This is what I always tell people,” she said on her podcast, 'The Best of Both Worlds with Flau’jae.' “They think, ‘Oh my gosh, you’re getting all these NIL deals. You’re getting all this money.’ But if I wasn’t doing somewhat good on the court, that wouldn’t be a thing. You focus on that, and then everything else just seems to fall in line.”
Meanwhile, the Georgia-born basketball star will be in action as the Tigers take on Stanford on Friday.
