Raven Johnson and the South Carolina Gamecocks extended their winning streak to nine games on Sunday, defeating the Mississippi State Bulldogs 95-68 at Humphrey Coliseum. Four players scored in double figures for the Gamecocks, who improved their overall record to 14-1.
Johnson stuffed the stat sheet against the Bulldogs, recording nine points, five rebounds and five assists. She shot 4-of-7 from the field, including 1-of-3 from beyond the arc. She was a workhorse for Dawn Staley, playing a team-high 31 minutes. This was just the third time this season that Johnson eclipsed the 30-minute mark in a game.
Johnson also made her presence felt on the defensive end, nabbing a game-high five steals. She has racked up 16 steals in South Carolina's last six games. She leads the Gamecocks in that department, averaging 1.7 steals through 15 games.

This was the 13th time this season that Raven Johnson failed to score in double figures for the Gamecocks. She scored seven points in their previous game against the Missouri Tigers.
Tessa Johnson picked up the scoring slack, dropping 22 points off the bench. She shot 8-for-11 from the field, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range. She has scored in double figures in South Carolina's last three games, averaging 15.3 points in the wins over Wofford, Missouri and Mississippi State.
Chloe Kitts also contributed, scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to record her fourth double-double of the season. Kitts was in an offensive slump entering this contest, scoring a combined four points in her last three games.
Te-Hina Paopao also delivered for the Gamecocks, who erased an 11-point deficit in the second quarter. She scored 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting. She did most of her damage from deep, knocking down three of her seven 3-point attempts. She added five assists, four rebounds and two steals in 30 minutes of action.
Joyce Edwards and MiLaysia Fulwiley provided the spark off the bench, combining for 19 points. Edwards scored 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting, while Fulwiley had nine points. It was not all good news for South Carolina as Ashlyn Watkins suffered a knee injury after landing awkwardly in the second quarter.
