“Remember last time this happened”: Stepfather Ameen Brooks and fans react as LSU posts Flau'jae Johnson and Kim Mulkey’s passionate hug

Flau'jae Johnson and LSU tasted immense success in their first game on the road since their trip to the Bahamas, scoring a convincing 100-54 victory over Grambling. Earlier today, LSU shared a special moment from their win at Bossier City, featuring Johnson and the Tigers's coach, Kim Mulkey.

During the game, the duo shared a passionate hug and the official LSU women's basketball account posted the captured moment on Instagram.

Within minutes of the post being uploaded, Tigers fans flocked to the comments section to shower Johnson and Mulkey with love.

Johnson's stepfather, Ameen Brooks, led the way by giving a call back to their warm embrace after LSU beat Iowa 102-85 in the 2023 NCAA Tournament final - where the team won its first national championship in the program's history.

"Remember last time this happened," said Brooks.

"Coach Mulkey deserves another natty please," said a fan.

Another fan added, "I will nevrrrr forget FL J spinning KM around and around after the 2023 Natty!!! I could feel it!"

Johnson and Mulkey have an extremely special relationship. On Nov. 22, Johnson revealed that she had to forego tickets to Adele's residency concert in Vegas because she had practice, mentioning that she chose Mulkey over her favorite musician.

Flau'jae Johnson has been a reliable starter for Mulkey since she committed to Baton Rouge in 2022. She seems to have picked up from where she left off last season, playing a key role in the LSU Tigers's opening 11 games this season, which have all ended in victories. Across those games, Johnson has averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

The Tigers moved to fourth in the latest update of AP's Top 25 women's college basketball poll. They will return to Baton Rouge to face the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in their next game, which will take place on December 15 at 3:00 PM ET.
