With the 2024 NBA draft set for a week from today, there are still a lot of questions that need to be answered. One of the major points is the draft spot of USC Trojans guard Bronny James. He has officially worked out for only the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers.
While speaking at the NBA draft combine in May, NBA agent Rich Paul has discussed teams that are also interested outside of the Suns and Lakers, despite not working out for them.
"There are other teams that love Bronny. For example, Minnesota, Dallas, Toronto. If it's not the Lakers, it will be someone else. Minnesota would love to get Bronny in, but I don't know who their owner is going to be.
"[Mavs GM] Nico Harrison is like an uncle to Bronny. If the Lakers don't take him at 55, Dallas would take him at 58 and give him a guaranteed deal. Masai [Ujiri, Raptors president] loves him. They could take him without even seeing him at 31. Workouts aren't everything for these teams." h/t ESPN
This will be interesting as Bronny James will be in a great position to make an impact with an NBA team. Rich Paul also made it clear that LeBron and Bronny are not necessarily a package deal as well.
What is the best landing spot for Bronny James in the 2024 NBA draft?
Bronny James is one of the most exciting prospects entering the 2024 NBA draft and there are some better landing spots than others. One of the top landing spots for James to begin his NBA career would be the Los Angeles Lakers.
This is nothing new as it is the most likely situation with the expected re-signing of LeBron James. With the Lakers in a situation where they do not have a coach officially on the staff after firing Darvin Ham, this seems like something they can use to help create some excitement for the future and take some pressure off of scouting right now.
Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers feel like the most realistic pairing with a week before the 2024 NBA draft.
