Sedona Prince made history again as she was named the Big 12 Player of the Week for a program-record fifth time in her career. The Big 12 Conference's Instagram posted a clip of Prince's highlights from the past week on Monday and the TCU star shared a funny reaction to it on her Instagram story.
One of the plays shown in the video was Prince barreling her way through the Kansas defense in their game on Wednesday. She drew a foul from Regan Williams and buried the basket over her outstretched arms for a 3-point play opportunity.
Prince celebrated after giving TCU a 49-44 lead over Kansas in the third quarter, slapping the hands of her teammate Donovyn Hunter. The senior center joked about that particular sequence when sharing the highlights with her Instagram followers.
"RIP to my teammates' hands whenever I score an and-1," Prince wrote.
Sedona Prince wreaked havoc against the Jayhawks in that contest, scoring a game-high 30 points in TCU's 80-73 win. She shot 12-for-21 and went 6-for-10 from the free-throw line. Prince also grabbed 14 rebounds to record her seventh double-double of the season.
Prince followed that game with a towering performance against the Texas Tech Lady Raiders, recording another double-double in TCU's 69-43 victory on Saturday night. She scored 20 points and collected 10 rebounds to lead the Horned Frogs to their eighth straight win. Prince also made her presence felt on the defensive end, amassing five blocks and three steals in 39 minutes of action.
Sedona Prince gets offensive help from Hailey Van Lith in wins over Kansas and Texas Tech
It wasn't just Sedona Prince who punished the defenses of Kansas and Texas Tech. Hailey Van Lith scored 19 points on 6-for-10 shooting in the win over the Jayhawks. She shot 2-of-4 from beyond the arc and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Van Lith also had six assists, four rebounds and one steal in 39 minutes of action.
Van Lith led the No. 11 TCU Horned Frogs in the win over the Lady Raiders, scoring 22 points and dishing out seven assists. She shot 7-for-14 from the floor and 8-for-9 at the charity stripe.
