RJ Davis Stats Tonight - How did North Carolina star fare vs Alabama? (Dec 4) 

RJ Davis and the No. 20 North Carolina Tar Heels suffered their third consecutive defeat on Wednesday night, losing 94-79 to the No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide at Dean E. Smith Center.

Davis was one of three players to score in double figures for North Carolina, scoring 18 points in the defeat. He shot 7-of-24 from the field and made all three of his free throw attempts against Alabama. Davis also had three rebounds, four assists and four steals in 35 minutes of action.

Davis remains the Tar Heels' top scorer this season, averaging 18.4 points per contest.

RJ Davis, North Carolina struggles against Alabama's defense

Davis and the Tar Heels struggled to unlock Alabama's defense. They shot just 41.0 percent from the field, including 5-of-28 from beyond the arc. Davis had a hard time finding his shot from the perimeter, missing 10-of-11 3-point attempts. North Carolina also committed 13 turnovers, three of which came from Davis.

Ian Jackson led the way for the Tar Heels on the offensive end, scoring 23 points off the bench. He shot 10-of-17 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range.

Alabama dominated from the get-go, building a 43-34 advantage after the first half. Aden Holloway and Mark Sears starred for the Crimson Tide during that period, scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively. Holloway torched the Tar Heels from deep, going 4-of-8 from 3-point range in the opening half.

Alabama cruised to victory in the second half, extending its lead to 18 points at one stage. The Crimson Tide used a balanced attack to defeat the Tar Heels, with six of their players scoring in double figures. Sears led the team in scoring with 20 points while Labaron Philon and Holloway each finished with 15 points.

North Carolina dropped to 4-4 with the loss. The Tar Heels' losing woes started in Hawaii, absorbing back-to-back defeats to Auburn and Michigan State in the Maui Invitational.

Davis and Co. face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets next on Saturday in Chapel Hill.
