Carter was a consensus four-star prospect ranked No. 149 in the Class of 2024 per 247Sports. He started the Vols' last five games of the regular season and led the team with six tackles, including a half TFL.

The Vols made the college football playoffs as the No. 9 seed, and were eliminated by the No. 8 seed, the Ohio State Buckeyes in the first round on December 21.

Per On3, Carter took to Instagram yesterday to announce his return to Knoxville with a story featuring a graphic that read, "Home sweet home, to me."
