Haley Cavinder and her sister Hanna have always been open with fans about their struggles with body image, food habits and lifestyle. The twins are often seen as role models in promoting a positive outlook on diet and maintaining healthy eating habits.

Last week, Hanna revealed her struggles with body dysmorphia. On Thursday, Haley shared her journey with eating healthy, while also addressing her past actions of being obsessed with being thin:

"Looking at old pics, something I've learned over the years is that the scale doesn't tell the full story. By lifting weights, eating enough protein and understanding what my body truly needs to thrive (we count macros) I weigh more now, but look leaner and feel stronger than I ever have."

Haley Cavinder then explained what body recomposition is and how it can be useful in helping build a toned physique:

"When I stopped obsessing over the scale and started focusing on building strength, dialing in nutrition, and how felt day-to-day, everythinggggg changed. I've learned to appreciate the journey and prioritize my health over any number.
"So, here is your reminder to stop letting the scale hold you back. Feeling energized, confident and strong doesn't come from seeing a number drop every day."

Haley Cavinder shares how she deals with negativity online

The consequence of being a public figure is that Haley Cavinder is often at the receiving end of much hatred and negativity from trolls online. In January, Cavinder said that she had a mental breakdown when she received immense hate after going public with her relationship with Dalla Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson.

With the return to Miami, Cavinder stands the risk of receiving more hate as her bad games and losses will be ripped apart. In an interview with USA Today, the guard revealed how she deals with negativity online.

"I think I’ve learned over the years, the more eyes on you, the more people aren’t going to like you," Cavinder said. "The more you get wrapped up in the negative, it can be a very long dark tunnel you go down.
"And I just think that who you look to for advice and approval should be people that know you best, and who you count on and talk to on a daily basis. The more eyes, the more opinions, and you just got to take everything with a grain of salt nowadays."

After leading the Hurricanes on a historic Elite Eight run in her senior year, Haley Cavinder faces similar expectations from fans for her final college season.
