Bryce James, the younger son of NBA superstar LeBron James, surprised fans and basketball enthusiasts with an unexpected announcement about his college plans, committing to the Arizona Wildcats, on Instagram on Wednesday.
Among those congratulating him was Justin Pippen, the son of NBA legend Scottie Pippen, further highlighting the familiarity between the two.
Justin Pippen shared a congratulatory message that reflected mutual respect between the next generation of basketball royalty.
“Congrats,” Pippen posted.
Bryce James’ announcement was notable as he continues to develop his game and build his identity as a player. His older brother, Bronny James, was drafted by the LA Lakers in June, joining his father LeBron James on the LA Lakers’ roster.
Bryce James chose Arizona over offers from Duquesne and Ohio State.
The decision was reportedly influenced by coach Tommy Lloyd's proven ability to develop players, according to Jason Scheer of Wildcat Authority as he looks to refine his game and take it to the next level.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing around 200 pounds, Bryce James will be aiming to carry forward their family’s basketball legacy.
Bryce’s commitment marks another significant addition to the Wildcats’ future lineup, as he joins five-star small forward Dwayne Aristode, who signed his national letter of intent in November.

“🐻 DOWN⬇️!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS MAXIMUS!! SO PROUD OF YOU!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🤎🤎🤎🥺🥺🥺🤴🏾 #JamesGang👑.” LeBron James wrote.
