Bryce James has plenty of attention from the sports media, especially as his high school career comes to an end after this season. The son of NBA superstar LeBron James made his college commitment official, and Shaquille O'Neal's kids Me'Arah and Shaqir reacted to the news.
On Wednesday, James announced on social media that he is taking his talent to Arizona.
"100% committed," James captioned the post.
Shaq's children, Me'Arah and Shaqir, reacted to James' post, providing short responses with two words and an emoticon showing their fingers crossed.
"Tufffff brudda," Me'Arah said.
"🤞🏽," Shaqir reacted.
What's next for Wildcats after Bryce James' commitment
It is a big decision for Bryce James to commit to the Wildcats, a program that has shown the ability to make runs in the NCAA Tournament under coach Tommy Lloyd, most recently a Sweet 16 appearance in 2024.
Graduating from Sierra Canyon High School later this year, Bryce is a consensus three-star prospect with a lot of upside. On 247Sports, he has an 86 rating as the 30th-best player in California and the 47th-best shooting guard in the Class of 2025.
"Bryce needs to be given time and space to run his own race, though," 247Sports' director of scouting Adam Finkelstein said. "He may not be the dynamic athlete or playmaker some expect at first, but he is a fundamentally sound player with solid perimeter size and a good early skill set."
While the prospects of having James on their roster next season will bring excitement to the Arizona community, the Wildcats will keep their concentration on the ongoing campaign. In their first matchup of 2025, they will face No. 16 Cincinnati at Fifth Third Arena on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
