Ta’Niya Latson ties FSU scoring record with standout performance in dominant win

Ta’Niya Latson delivered a historic performance on Thursday night, leading the Florida State Seminoles to a commanding 105-74 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Latson was unstoppable, shooting an impressive 18-of-28 from the field, including 2-of-3 from three-point range. The junior guard came close to breaking the record earlier this season, with 39 points against SMU and 38 against Tennessee.

Entering the game as the nation’s leading scorer at 27.2 points per game, Latson put on yet another show, scoring 17 points in the first half and an additional 23 in the second. Latson has scored 30 points or more in four of her last five appearances for FSU this season.

The Seminoles recorded their third-highest scoring output in an ACC game in program history, tallying 105 points. This marked their fourth game of the season, scoring over 100 points.

The Seminoles also saw standout contributions from O’Mariah Gordon and Makayla Timpson. Gordon scored 18 points and added a career-high seven steals, while Timpson chipped in 16 points.

Latson’s record-tying performance and the team’s overall effort highlight Florida State’s impressive depth and offensive firepower. The Seminoles are proving themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the ACC, with Latson leading the way as one of the top players.
