Te-Hina Paopao produced another impressive performance in her senior season at South Carolina, as they recorded a convincing 85–52 victory over No. 9 TCU. While the Gamecocks' experienced guard was at it on offense, she also caught the eye of college basketball fans with a slick move on her Horned Frogs counterpart, Hailey Van Lith.
With 8:33 left in the second quarter, Paopao received the ball just outside the 3-point arc. After Joyce Edwards threw Van Lith slightly off with a screen, Paopao drove in off the Horned Frogs' guard's left, before catching her flat-footed by quickly shifting her dribble just outside the paint.
She then made a floater despite Van Lith's effort to block her, extending the Gamecocks' lead to 69–32.
Paopao's dribbling skills garnered views on social media, with college basketball fans taking to Instagram to express their opinions on that moment. Some mocked Van Lith, mentioning how she was undone by Paopao's move with relative ease.
"She put HVL in the blender," one fan wrote.
"Had HVL on skates," another wrote.
"HVL can score. But I still haven’t seen the defense get better on perimeter. They attack her for a reason. She makes it look like she is working hard though," another wrote.
Others praised Paopao and the Gamecocks, believing the team and herself improved massively following the loss to the UCLA Bruins over two weeks ago.
"Been straight cookin this season. Worked on her craft!!" One fan wrote.
"Pao been in here bag this year!! Not just shooting but taking ppl off the dribble and all!!" Another wrote.
"Wow, South Carolina is showing the world why they’re the number 1 team again. I think the loss to UCLA was a good thing -it sparked a fire in them. They’re hungry again," another wrote.
Despite coming undone by Paopao, Van Lith produced another impressive performance for the Horned Frogs, finishing with a team-leading 21 points and six assists.
