The long wait is finally over for Hailey Van Lith and the TCU Horned Frogs. They ended their 37-game losing streak against the Baylor Bears on Sunday, recording an 80-75 victory over their Big 12 rivals at Schollmaier Arena.

It was the Horned Frogs' first win against the Bears since Feb. 28, 1990, when they secured an 83-76 victory at home.

Van Lith played a pivotal role in the Horned Frogs snapping their nearly 35-year drought against Baylor, scoring 19 points in 36 minutes. She shot 5-for-12, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, and went 7-for-8 from the free-throw line.

The senior guard also made history in that contest, reaching 500 career assists after dishing out three dimes against Baylor. She achieved the milestone midway through the first quarter. TCU coach Mark Campbell praised his star player during the postgame press conference.

"At the end of the day, she’s the head of the monster," Campbell said. "You’re the point guard on a team that is 20-2 and top 10 in the country. That’s awesome that she did that."

The coach also praised Hailey Van Lith for how quickly she has adjusted to the Horned Frogs' system and excelled.

"She broke 500 assists tonight? That’s awesome," Campbell said. "If you guys understand, the portal makes it tricky. To be a point guard and to be a plug-and-play point guard, as what I call her."
"When you’re here for nine months, with a new coaching staff, with new teammates and learn a brand new system on the fly and to do it at an elite level, it’s really, really hard to do. Like, really hard."
