Flau'jae Johnson imitated her LSU Tigers teammate Last-Tear Poa during Friday's episode of her "Best of Both Worlds" podcast. Melbourne-native Poa joined LSU in 2022, just like Johnson, and the two are set to play their junior season this fall.
Flau'jae and her guest, Mikaylah Williams, were describing their Tigers teammates when the guard said:
"Poa is like the nicest person, and it's like all the time. She's never not nice. She one of them friends like, see me and you, we not like affectionate friends. Poa the type of friend, 'I love you so much.' [in an Australian accent]."

Williams is a sophomore guard and is expected to help Johnson in the championship campaign next season.
Last year, the LSU Tigers were led by seniors Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith. However, now with both of the players out of LSU, the responsibility falls on Johnson. The guard spoke about her additional responsibility in an interview with the New York Post.
“Yeah, the spotlight will be on me,” she said. “But that’s why basketball is a team sport. Like I say, I’m on my team to be there. I have to lead them. I’m the captain. I have to lift them up. So it, for me, is just like learning how to just be inclusive.
"Like they say, the good players, they’re good, but the great players, they help bring people up with them. So like, that’s what I want to do, like have to build my team up because I want to do something special at LSU.”
Flau'jae Johnson and the LSU Tigers are one of the favorites for an NCAA title win
In 2023, Angel Reese, with Flau'jae Johnson, led the Tigers to a historic NCAA championship, a first in the program's history. While they expected to repeat it, they exited March Madness after the Elite Eight loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Now with the new season, the expectations are on the Tigers to bring the title back to Baton Rouge. While some may assume a pressure on the player, LSU coach Kim Mulkey disagrees.
"I don't think there was pressure, even when Angel was here," Mulkey said. "Each kid just has a different personality. I've told you many times, I've coached some big personalities. Somebody in this bunch will probably have a big personality. It might not be in comparison to Angel."
The LSU Tigers will begin their season on Nov. 4 against Eastern Kentucky.
