The game was a disappointment for the Hurricanes who lost 66-61. This was Miami's fourth straight loss. Both teams faced significant challenges, with turnovers (19 each) and defensive inconsistency being key factors in the outcome.
Haley Cavinder led Miami with 17 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Hanna Cavinder had two points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals. The Hurricanes shot 33.8% floor and 32.1% from the 3-point range. However, Syracuse was slightly more efficient, shooting 37.7% from the floor.
Despite the great start to the season, Miami now holds an 11-5 overall record and four losses in conference play.
