Indiana came out of the gates strong. It scored the first six points of the game and raced to a 15-5 lead. However, SIU clawed its way back as the first half wore on. The Cougars tied the game at 27, but the Hoosiers went on a dominant 15-3 run to go into halftime with a 12-point lead.
Indiana's lead would not drop below nine points the rest of the way.
The SIU Edwardsville Cougars were not good at shooting the basketball as they finished the game with a 35.2/19.2/46.2 shooting split. The one plus was the fact the team grabbed 16 offensive rebounds.

The Indiana Hoosiers were 52.6% from the floor, 37.5% from the 3-point line, and had 17 free-throw attempts. The team had a 43-34 rebounding advantage, with Mackenzie Mgbako dominating with 31 points on just 17 shot attempts.
However, while the team looked great on the offensive side, the defense needs to improve going forward.
