Gabbie Marshall played 166 games across five seasons under Lisa Bluder for the Hawkeyes, scoring 1,091 points and creating 279 assists through last season.

Known for her defensive prowess, Marshall became the 44th Hawkeye to surpass 1,000 career points. She remains the only player in Iowa women’s basketball history to record at least 200 3-pointers and 200 steals.

Update: Gabbie Marshall takes different path after basketball

Gabbie Marshall, alongside Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin, helped elevate Iowa’s basketball program to elite status. With back-to-back national championship game appearances, the Hawkeyes became a powerhouse. While Clark and Martin have taken their talents to the WNBA, Marshall has taken a different path.

After leaving basketball, Marshall chose to focus on academics. She moved to North Carolina to pursue a master’s degree in occupational therapy. She left Iowa with a degree in health and human physiology.

Marshall’s transition off the court hasn’t diminished her connection with fans. In September, she offered autographed photographs, which sold out quickly, a testament to her enduring popularity as one of Iowa’s most celebrated athletes.

Marshall’s standout season came as a sophomore during the 2020-21 campaign, when she played 30 games, scoring 273 points and averaging 9.1 points per game. Her contributions were instrumental in Iowa’s success and cemented her reputation as a versatile and reliable guard.
