Dawn Staley paid a visit last month to Mitchell & Ness at Walnut Street, where a bunch of Staley's fans gathered to see their favorite coach. Fans traveled from different parts of the country to get Mitchell & Ness' new Staley Team USA jersey from 2004, which sold out very quickly.
However, Mitchell & Ness has announced that Staley's jersey is back in stock, which has hyped up the fans and Staley alike.
"Jerseys are back in-stock," wrote Mitchell & Ness in their post.
Staley also celebrated the return of her jersey as she took to Instagram to share the news.
A 2x Naismith College Player of the Year, Dawn Staley was amazing as a player. She won three Olympic gold medals in this jersey with USA, where she played from 1989 to 2004. She was a 9th overall pick by Charlotte Sting in the 1999 WNBA Draft and was a WNBA All-Star six times.
After taking over the basketball world as a player, Staley is now dominating as a coach. South Carolina has won three NCAA championships under her guidance and she will be eyeing another one in the upcoming season.
After the transition of key players from the 2023-24 roster, Staley has signed four new players for this upcoming season. One of the most important addition is Joyce Edwards who was the second-best prospect in the nation and is known for her ability to find open lanes to ultimately sink a jumper.
Other than Edwards, Maddy McDaniel, Adhel Tac, and Maryam Dauda will be doing the Gamecocks' jersey in the 2024-25 season.
Dawn Staley asks fans to stock her Virginia jersey
Staley was a key player for the University of Virginia from 1988 to 1992. As a player for the Cavaliers, she was named the Naismith College Player of the Year in 1991 and 1992 and led them to three consecutive Final Fours.
To remember her brilliance for the program, Virginia launched a special Dawn Staley jersey. They announced the new jersey on X where Staley humorously urged fans to buy some of them.
"Yall better get them before I buy all of them! Christmas is coming and I like to shop early, often and plentiful!!!"
