South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball coach Dawn Staley is set to be honored at the ESPYS. She will be honored alongside Prince Harry and former NFL player Steve Gleason.

Staley is set to receive the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance, while Gleason will receive the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage, and Prince Harry will receive the Pat Tillman Award for Service.

"I’m grateful to ESPN for their coverage and the honor of this award," Staley said in a statement. "We’ve come a long way, and we will continue to move the women’s game forward and push for equity and visibility for our sport.”

Staley's award is given not only for her resilience on the court but in large part for her battle against cancer. Staley's sister Tracey and former assistant coach Nikki McCray-Penson have both been diagnosed with cancer. Because of that, the Gamecocks head coach has become a major voice for cancer research.

Staley has also been a prominent voice for women's sports, as she speaks openly about gender equality and diversity in sports.

This past season with the Gamecocks, Staley led South Carolina to a perfect 38-0 record and won the national title.

The ESPYS are set to air on Thursday, July 11, at 8 pm ET on ABC.
