South Carolina coach Dawn Staley received a unique honor as Togethxr released a new custom cardigan for her. It was designed in partnership with Aflac, designer Alex Taylor and embroidery artist Shakira Javonni.

The cardigan includes a few logos representative of coach Staley like one for her dog Champ, her jersey number, an NCAA championship trophy along with 38-0, a goat, an Olympic medal, and a hoop. The quote, "Everyone Watches Women's Sports" is stitched on the back.

"The task was to create a fun piece that not only captured Coach Staley’s unique personal style, but highlighted her decorated career and significant role in championing the next generation of women in the game. Of course, there’s also a nod to her beloved companion, Champ," Alex Taylor said in a statement.

Coach Staley reacted to the news on X as she replied to the post with lyrics from Mary J. Blige's 'My Life.'

" 🥰🥰🥰 BOOM! “If you look into my life and see what I see” @maryjblige 🥰🥰🥰"

Dawn Staley selected to be a part of the Presidential delegation to the Paris Olympics

Dawn Staley has long been considered one of the flag bearers of women's basketball with her achievements as a player and as a coach. She led Team USA to three Olympic gold medals in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and the 2004 Athens Olympics.

During the games in Athens, Dawn Staley created history by becoming the first-ever basketball player to be the flag bearer to lead the U.S. Olympic athletes. Sue Bird followed in her footsteps during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics games. This year, LeBron James became the first men's basketball player to be the flag bearer.

By leading the South Carolina Gamecocks to their third National Championship, Dawn Staley became the first Black coach to win the title thrice. In recognition of her historic season, which included a 38-0 perfect run, coach Staley has been included in the Presidential delegation for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics opening ceremony on July 26.

She will join First Lady Jill Biden along with Karen Bass, Los Angeles Mayor, Casey Wasserman, Chairman of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games, and Brian Boitano, the three-time Olympic figure skater.

The Gamecock women's basketball representation at the Olympics goes beyond coach Staley as former player and 2017 NCAA Champion A'ja Wilson will participate as a member of Team USA. This will be her second Olympic appearance. South Carolina's 2022 NCAA winner Laeticia Amihere will represent Canada.
