Jada Gyamfi was known to be close to former Iowa Hawkeyes stars Caitlin Clark and Gabbie Marshall, and it seems their friendship is still going strong. On Friday, Gyamfi posted a dump of her pictures and wrote in the caption:
"Some new things & some old things🩷."
The Iowa forward tagged Clark and Marshall on one of the photos, which had framed pictures of the two in her "Fresh Tawk" podcast studio. Caitlin Clark replied to it, thanking Jada Gyamfi for the social media boost.
"Tag was huge for me. Love u. Noiceeeeeeeeee," the Fever rookie wrote.
"Thanks for the tag boo😂😂❤️. You are so cute," Gabbie Marshall wrote in the comments.
Jada Gyamfi once shared her regret at being friends with only seniors
In her first two years at Iowa, Jada Gyamfi relied heavily on Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin, and Gabbie Marshall to help navigate her transition to college.
"I leaned on them a lot which I think helped them trust me because I was like, 'Hey, I'm going through this and you have been through this,'" she said on the 'Talking Fresh with the VandeBergs' podcast in June.
Martin, in particular, helped Gyamfi with the injury issues she faced in her freshman season. The forward sustained a concussion after a fall during practice and later struggled with an ankle injury. Kate Martin's college debut was delayed due to a torn ACL.
Gyamfi shared that she was able to confide in Martin, which helped her return to court.
"Caitlin was an easy one cause we could sit and laugh for hours," Gyamfi said. "She's really funny. I'm really funny and I knew her kind of coming into this.
Jada Gyamfi shared that she and Gabbie Marshall share the same personality and so were able to become quick friends.
"My freshman year, we got super close and then over the summer coming back and throughout this year, like it really fused into some really strong friendships. Now, I'm like, 'Why did I pick three seniors to be best friends with?'"
Despite all four players now living in different states, they maintain their friendship and are even seen at Clark and Martin's WNBA games. With Gyamfi starting her junior season soon, the former Iowans could make an appearance on the courtside.
