Coach Hubert Davis comments on RJ Davis' rhythm in UNC's victory over Tar Heels
Over the past few games, RJ Davis has emerged as a critical component of the North Carolina Tar Heels offense, showing signs of finding his rhythm amid adjustments to the lineup. As the Tar Heels gear up for ACC play, Davis’ resurgence could not have come at a better time.
UNC coach Hubert Davis noticed a marked improvement in the senior guard's game, attributing his recent performances to individual growth and the evolving team dynamic.
“I do feel like he’s in a better rhythm out there on the floor,” Davis said. “I do feel that way.”
This rhythm, according to Davis, is partially due to the integration of new players and the emergence of key contributors, such as freshman Ian Jackson. Jackson’s ability to score consistently has alleviated pressure on Davis, giving him more opportunities to create and execute his offensive game.
This added spacing and offensive balance have allowed Davis to shine in recent games. Whether it’s his scoring, playmaking or leadership, Davis has demonstrated why he is one of the most crucial players on this Tar Heel roster.
The coach expressed his satisfaction with Davis’ progress, saying,
“I’m really happy for him.”
As the Tar Heels navigate the season, this resurgence is an encouraging sign for a team looking to build momentum heading into conference play.
