With Thanksgiving on Thursday, the Big 12 asked its players like Hailey Van Lith, Eylia Love and more, along with Kansas coach Bill Self, for their favorite food to eat during the holiday dinner.
The answers varied, as some chose dressing, yam and more while others picked their grandmother's specialty dishes.
"Candied yams, like the sweet potato hash, I'm all over that," Hailey Van Lith said.
"Mac and cheese and yams for Thanksgiving," Houston's Eylia Love answered.
"Dressing with the cranberry sauce on there," said Baylor's Jayden Nunn.
Texas Tech's Bailey Maupin named a long list of dishes and it included:
"Stuffing, gravy, ham, turkey all the deserts you can think of."
"Hand's down 100% my mom's peach cobbler. It doesn't miss ever," Javon Ruffin said.
Meanwhile, UCF's Keyshawn Hall named a unique combination as he shared that he mixes macaroni and baked beans. Kansas coach Bill Self could not pick one thing, and he named every single Thanksgiving dish as his favorite.
Cincinnati Bearcats' graduate senior Aziz Bandaogo gave the most wholesome answer.
"I love food. I really enjoy it, so like every food really makes me excited at the moment," he said.
Hailey Van Lith proves that she is back to her winning ways
After a three-year successful run at Louisville, Hailey Van Lith transferred to LSU for her senior season in hopes of winning a championship. However, the move proved disastrous, as she saw a steep fall in production since she could not find her place on the roster.
Now in her fifth season with the TCU Horned Frogs, Van Lith has finally got her groove back. In Sunday's 86-46 win over Idaho State, the guard finished with 27 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. She went 10-of-16 from the floor and 4-of-9 from the 3-point line.
In the postgame press conference, Van Lith said:
"A lot of people don’t even know half of what I’ve been through, and that doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, people don’t need to know. I’ve had a great support system. I couldn’t be happier with the team and the coaches that I have this year. I’m just excited to keep playing."
The Horned Frogs are now 6-0, and Hailey Van Lith is averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 7.0 assists. With a potential transition to the WNBA next season, the guard is on track for a great season with TCU.
