Jada Gyamfi answered fan questions in the latest episode of the "Fresh Tawk" podcast, highlighting the importance of her relationships, team practices and much more. One fan had asked who Gyamfi would pick from Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall, in case she was stuck on an island with one person.
The Iowa Hawkeyes forward ranked Martin at the top and backed up her survival skills. While she doubted Marshall's instincts, she still gave her the second spot, citing that she would cherish the alone time she would get with her.
With that, Jada Gyamfi gave Clark the third spot, saying that the Indiana Fever guard would reserve herself from doing chores and constantly complain about things.
"Caitlin at number three because we wouldn't get off, we would not find any food," she said (Timestamp: 6:55). "I would have to be the one to do everything and all she would just be in my ear like, 'Oh my God I'm so hungry,' and she'd get so sunburnt too because she has very fair skin. She would complain about that.
"We would not make it off that island. That girl has no island survival skills, neither do I. Oh, I'm also supposed to give Caitlin a shout-out, so sorry I put you at number three, love you kitten, but yeah we're not making it off that Island. Me and Gabbie, maybe. Me and Caitlin, H E L L no."
Jada Gyamfi does not plan on turning pro
In her podcast, Jada Gyamfi shared that while she intends to stay with the Hawkeyes women's basketball program, she is not trying to turn pro. Instead, the 21-year-old will pursue teaching as a career.
Gyamfi has not decided on the specific role she would want to play as a teacher but wants to teach elementary school. She also believes that there is a shortage of teachers in the U.S., which could help her land an ideal job.
"I want to be an elementary teacher," she said (Timestamp: 1:30). "I haven't really decided what grade I prefer, but I think that I will be happy anywhere and there's a little bit of a shortage for teachers right now. So, I shouldn't have any trouble finding a job. We need more teachers. Go to school to be a teacher."
Jada Gyamfi is studying to be a teacher and is part of the student-teaching program. She shared that after she has played her eligibility years, she will spend a semester student-teaching on campus. This is because her playing basketball through both semesters in college meant that she couldn't do it so far.
