JuJu Watkins has burst onto the scene as one of the best players in women's college basketball. She has performed so well that the Basketball Hall of Fame has given her some recognition.

On Friday, USC's social media page made a post that shows Watkins posing in front of her No. 12 jersey, which is already in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.

It didn't take long for fans to comment on the post, being amazed by the feat JuJu Watkins accomplished while finding similarities to players who did it in the men's game. Here are some of their reactions.

"That’s actually crazy if you think about it. Has this ever happened on the men’s side?," one fan said.
"Yup, many times, if you do something historic they ask you to send them the jersey, shoes etc and then they display it for a bit and keep it in their collection," one fan replied to that comment.
"Kd, Chris Webber, Carmelo," one fan named the men's players who had the same feat as Watkins.

Others ranged from positive to mixed with their opinions, being happy that her efforts were being recognized while being surprised that she was getting it sooner than expected.

"I'm so proud of everything that she was able to accomplish and everything that she will accomplish," one fan said.
"USC showing mad love but I think it’s too early for it let her build that resume," another replied.
"A legend in the making for sure," a fan declared.

JuJu Watkins excited to play against Paige Bueckers, UConn

The No. 4 Huskies are set to duke it out with the No. 7 Trojans, having a star matchup between JuJu Watkins and Paige Bueckers. With the game taking place at the XL Center on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET, Watkins provided her outlook on the highly anticipated encounter between teams that would be expected by many to make deep runs in the NCAA Tournament.

"I'm so stoked. To get a top-10 matchup, it's always a great opportunity. And for us to really showcase what we've been working on and our progress since the beginning of the season, we're really excited for it, and you just know it's going to be a great one," JuJu Watkins said.

11 games into the 2024-25 season, Watkins is averaging 24.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.6 steals, and 1.9 blocks per contest on 45.4% shooting from the field and 34.3% from beyond the arc. This has helped the Trojans a lot by having a 10-1 record heading into the UConn game.

It will certainly be a battle of stars between Watkins and Bueckers, with the latter showcasing her experience as one of the sport's best. The Husky is putting up averages of 20.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, four assists, and 2.1 steals on 58.4% shooting overall and 44.2% from downtown, presenting her matchup with the Trojan as a highly anticipated headline of the game.

After this matchup, JuJu Watkins and No. 7 USC will have one last contest in 2024 by hosting the No. 20 Michigan Wolverines at the Galen Center on Dec. 29 at 10 p.m. ET.
