North Carolina guard Elliot Cadeau was emotional after the Tar Heels' 90-84 loss to No. 7 Florida at the Jumpman Invitational in Charlotte on Tuesday.

UNC struggled early, falling behind 17-0 in the first half. However, the Tar Heels mounted a second-half comeback, highlighted by an 11-0 run. Cadeau and graduate guard RJ Davis were instrumental in the rally, but UNC ultimately came up short.

After the game, a video was shared on Instagram of Cadeau in tears as he walked back to the locker room with his teammates.

"Elliot Cadeau in tears as he heads to the locker room after the UNC Tar Heels’ fall 90-84 to the Florida Gators," the post was captioned.

Fans expressed disappointment with the Tar Heels' performance while reacting to Cadeau's emotional moment after the game.

"He knows he has to play better for his team to win…," a fan wrote.
"Never been more embarrassed to be a Tar Heel fan and I’ve never missed a Tar Heel basketball fan in my entire life," another fan wrote.
"This like the second time this season… tighten up lil bro," another fan commented.

Some fans slammed Cadeau for crying after the loss.

"He's crying? That's ludicrous," a fan commented.
"It's only the 11th game of the season. Not even the ACC or NCAA tournament and dude is already crying for real," another fan wrote.
"He stinks soft as hell," a fan commented.

Elliot Cadeau and UNC's comeback effort falls short vs Florida

North Carolina's struggles this season continued with a 90-84 loss to the No. 7 Florida Gators on Tuesday, despite a valiant second-half comeback. Freshman guard Elliot Cadeau finished with 11 points and seven assists, while graduate guard RJ Davis led all scorers with 29 points on 10-of-19 shooting and added eight rebounds.

UNC's offensive woes were evident in the first half, as the team shot just 29.7% from the field, including 2-for-16 from beyond the arc. The second half showed significant improvement, with the Tar Heels shooting 62.9% and going on an 11-0 run to rally. They outscored the Gators 50-44 in the half.

However, a scoring drought in the final 2:13 proved costly, allowing Florida to retake the lead and secure the win. The loss dropped UNC to 6-5. The Tar Heels are still searching for their first victory over a non-ACC power-conference opponent this season.

On Saturday, the Tar Heels will face No. 18 UCLA in the CBS Sports Classic at the Madison Square Garden.
