Flau'jae Johnson is ready to make waves in the music industry

While Flau'jae Johnson is widely known as a women's college basketball player, she doubles up as a rapper. Going by the stage name 'Flau'jae', the LSU guard decided to pursue a career in the music industry to continue the legacy of her father, who was also a rapper.

Johnson took the next step in her musical career on Friday as she released her debut album titled, Best of Both Worlds. She took to Instagram and announced the official release of the album, which is now available on major music streaming platforms. Famous rapper Lil Wayne is featured in the new album.

“I wanna thank God for the ability to use my voice as a vessel to share his love, light, and positivity,” Flau'jae Johnson wrote. “Secondly, I want to thank my mom for sacrificing EVERYTHING to help me chase my dream, I love you for life.
“Last but not least I want to thank MY TEAM, this release was not easy and the hard work isn’t over yet but I want to let y'all know that I appreciate y’all and I see everything!”

Flau'jae Johnson grateful to her fans

Following the release of her debut album, Flau'jae Johnson took the opportunity to thank her fans for their support. She expressed gratitude for the motivation this provided her to keep pushing when the times were tough.

“Now to my fans and supporters, y’all get a ya own paragraph lol, y’all are so special to me," Johnson wrote on Instagram. "It’s so many times when I get hated or I even doubt myself and y’all send me messages like 'Keep going' or saying how much I inspire y’all. But y'all don’t even know y'all inspire me.
"So I thank y’all, thank you for listening to my story and my music, it means so much to me and I love y’all!! This is only the beginning.. if you’re new to the Flauk, well enjoy the ride. It’s up."

Johnson has encountered some hard times in her musical and basketball career over the years. Most notable is the spat she had with her teammate Angel Reese early in the 2023-24 season. Nonetheless, she's been able to push through it all.

Following the album release, it is expected that Flau'jae Johnson will get herself ready for her junior season at LSU. The Tigers failed to retain the national title last season as conference rival South Carolina went on to claim the crown. They will be out to win it once again in 2024-25.
