Fairleigh Dickinson Knights coach Tobin Anderson had a message for their first-round matchup, the Purdue Boilermakers. FDU is the 16th seed in the East region of the NCAA tournament and will take on the Boilermakers, who are the No. 1 seed.
After FDU's 84-61 win against the Texas Southern Tigers on Wednesday, Anderson made some bold remarks that were addressed to the Boilermakers.
"I want Purdue to see this. The more I watch Purdue, the more I think we can beat them." Anderson said. "Let's go shock the world."
Anderson ended with this:
"Enjoy this one, be humble."
Sophomore forward Ansley Almonor had 28 points and eight rebounds to power the win against TSU. Demetre Roberts and Joe Munden Jr. added 15 and 17 apiece.
Whichever team wins the matchup between FDU and the Boilermakers will take on the winner of the game between Memphis and Florida.
FDU's win was its first NCAA Tournament win in four seasons.

Fairleigh Dickinson coach Tobin Anderson helped the Knights win their first NCAA tournament game in a while. Anderson was born on Dec. 1, 1971, in Truro, Iowa. Before he began his coaching career, he was a college basketball player himself.
He attended Wesleyan University, where he finished as the school's 11th-best scorer in history. Anderson was a student-athlete for the university from 1991-1995.
Right after college, Tobin Anderson started his coaching career at Clarkson University. After one season, he joined the Le Moyne Dolphins as an assistant coach and stayed there for two seasons. Following that, he returned to Clarkson and stayed with the school until 2004.
He then bounced around from school to school before landing a coaching spot at Fairleigh Dickinson. This is his first season as head coach for FDU and has led the team to notable achievements.
After their First Four victory, Tobin Anderson shared what motivated him and his team to try hard to get the win over the Tigers.
"We had two choices," Anderson said. "One, you go home. Two, you go play Purdue. We’re going to play Purdue."
