“They winning it all”: College hoops fans go crazy as Hannah Hidalgo, Olivia Miles and Sonia Citron drop double-doubles combining for 69 points

College basketball fans went crazy after the Notre Dame trio of Hannah Hidalgo, Olivia Miles and Sonia Citron put up double-doubles to help the Fighting Irish demolish the Syracuse Orange in their first ACC regular season game on Sunday at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York.

Hidalgo, Miles and Citron combined for 69 points and 31 rebounds for the Niele Ivey-coached squad, proving that they are the team to beat in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Citron led Notre Dame's offense with 25 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks, while Hidalgo contributed 24 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Olivia Miles finished two assists away from a triple-double, tallying 20 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and one steal. Their combined production had fans go wild as it was rare to have three players producing double-doubles in the same game.

Fans were ecstatic about the trio's performances, believing the three have sent a warning to future opponents come March Madness, with one writing:

"They winning it all"

Other college basketball enthusiasts are excited to see them compete in the 2025 NCAA Tournament and possibly walk home as national champions. There are fans who believe Sonia Citron could be a key piece for Notre Dame if they aspire to go deep into the tournament.

Hannah Hidalgo and Co. dominate Syracuse in ACC opener

Notre Dame (7-2, 1-0 ACC) torched the hoops and demolished Syracuse (4-6, 0-1 ACC) in its ACC opener on Sunday at the JMA Wireless Dome. The No. 10 Fighting Irish dominated the Orange in the second half after a slow first-half start that saw them led by seven after 20 minutes.

Notre Dame used an 18-2 surge in a five-minute stretch in the third period to take control of the encounter. The lead stretched to 33 points, 87-54, and the Fighting Irish coasted along in the final seconds of the fourth quarter to extend their winning streak to two games.

Kate Koval added 12 points, two rebounds, one assist and two blocks while Liatu King had an all-around game despite scoring only five points. She had 12 rebounds, three assists, six steals and two blocks in 37 minutes.

Notre Dame shot 50% from the field and 82.4% from the free-throw line. The Fighting Irish won the rebounds (54-38), assists (22-11) and blocks (7-4) departments and had a distinct 37-6 advantage in fast break points.

Hidalgo and Co. will return to the Purcell Pavilion on Thursday to take on No. 2 UConn in a rivalry game. The Huskies are coming off an 85-52 victory over Louisville in the Women's Champions Classic on Saturday.
