Why did Chloe Kitts miss South Carolina's game against NC State yesterday?

Kitts was a glaring omission from the Gamecocks' roster against the Wolfpack yesterday. She missed the game due to an "academic policy issue," via a quote from SC coach Dawn Staley on the team's official X account prior to last evening's game.

Despite her absence, the Gamecocks scored a convincing 71-57 victory over the No. 9 NC State in a rematch of last season's Final Four. Senior guard Te-Hina Paopao finished as the top scorer for Dawn Staley's side, finishing with 23 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

MiLaysia Fulwiley produced an inspired performance off the bench, finishing with 18 points, three rebounds and a block to back up Paopao and ensure the Gamecocks went 2-0 this season.

The Gamecocks will hope Kitts can return in time for their first home game of the season, which will take place on November 14 against the Coppin State Eagles.
