Fans are reacting to Kiyan Anthony's tattoo of his mother's face, La La, on his forearm. Anthony has a close relationship with his mother and he tattoos profound messages of gratitude for her.
Kiyan's parents, Carmelo Anthony, an NBA legend, and La La, are divorced. But the two ensure that they come together for their son. The two joined their son on a trip to Japan after his impressive performance in the 2024 Nike Peach Jam tournament.
Canadian artist Steve Weibe tattooed Kiyan on his forearm. The tattooed forearm of Kiyan Anthony reads:
“Dear Mom, you continuously put me before yourself. You are my why. I thank God for you everyday.”
Fans reacted to the act in varied ways. Some felt it was too strange, while others exemplified it as a son's deep love for his mother:
"This is a bit obsessive if you ask me."
"She weird for even allowing him to do it."
"Giving her the flowers while she is still breathing."
"Aww that is so beautiful young man. [Heart emojis] your mommy. To La La I know that feeling from a son."
While some Instagram users let their imagination run wild, others continued to praise the ink.
"Dope to see bro join the ink gang", one wrote.
"Beautiful souls! Moms are everything", another posted.
247 Sports ranks Anthony as the No. 32 prospect in the class of 2025. He averaged 21.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in the recently concluded Nike Peach Jam tournament.
