Paige Bueckers sent the fans inside XL Center into a frenzy after leading the UConn Huskies to a 67-41 victory over the Providence Friars on Sunday. UConn supporters swarmed the college basketball star following her stellar performance in the Huskies' final game of the year.
Bueckers scored a game-high 23 points in 27 minutes of action. She shot 8-for-12 and knocked down all six of her free-throw attempts against Providence. She also had four rebounds, four assists and two steals.
After the final whistle, fans lingered to get closer to Bueckers, leading to a hectic scene as they clamored for autographs and photos with the UConn guard.
Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to the chaotic scenes in Hartford, Connecticut.
"Oh she's a real one. I would've had a panic attack," one fan posted.
"This is diabolical," another fan commented.
"The Paige Bueckers phenomenon," one fan shared.

Bueckers helped the Huskies finish the year with an 11-2 overall record. She leads the team in scoring, averaging 20.9 points per game this season. Bueckers has scored at least 20 points in nine of UConn's first 13 games, including each of the Huskies' last five outings.

Bueckers did most of her damage against Providence in the first half, scoring 19 of her 23 points during that period. She was efficient with her scoring, going 6-for-7 from the floor and a perfect 6-for-6 at the charity stripe in the opening two quarters.
It wasn't just Bueckers who dazzled for the No. 7 UConn Huskies in the win over the Friars. Sarah Strong recorded 14 points, two rebounds and two assists. Azzi Fudd added eight points in her first start for UConn since suffering a knee injury against the Louisville Cardinals earlier this month.
