Last-Tear Poa filed a lawsuit against USCIS over visa denial
Last-Tear Poa did not participate in the Tigers' exhibition games, and the first three tip off for undisclosed reasons. However, Sports Illustrated reported on November 1 that Poa filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Citizenship Immigration Services (USCIS) following her P-1A Athlete visa application denial. It was reported that her participation in college basketball was not internationally recognized.
This would potentially lead to Poa missing out on endorsement deals.
Last-Tear Poa joined LSU in 2022 after playing at Northwest Florida State College. She averaged 4.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists last season and made her return to the hardwood floor against Murray State on November 15.
Against the Races, she went scoreless with two assists and played for seven minutes. When the LSU played against Troy on November 18, she finished the game with one point, two rebounds and three assists. Against Tulane Green Wave, she scored two points, one rebound and five assists.
The No. 7 LSU Tigers won against the Washington Huskies by 68-67 and will face No. 20 NC State next.
