Paige Bueckers delivered a performance to remember on Wednesday night, leading the No. 6 UConn Huskies to a commanding 100-57 win against the Villanova Wildcats. The senior guard filled the stat sheet with 21 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, all of which were achieved in just three quarters of play. The win marks the Huskies’ second game of the season scoring over 100 points.
The performance didn't go unrecognized by her fans either, as they came to praise and show support in the comments.

"This is insane."
"Paige Bueckers Revenge game, " a fan wrote.
"Goat," one post read.
"She was like, “Y’all saw what I did," another fan said.
"Paige Bueckers is just built different. She hits a half court shot right before heading back to the team tunnel like it’s nothing," a fan added.
"She's playing amazing. Let's go Paige!!" one fan said.
Bueckers came out firing, scoring 19 of her points in the first half alone, including nine in under four minutes. Her offensive outburst fueled UConn's dominance early on, with the team posting runs of 12-0, 10-0 and another 10-0, resulting in a 58-32 halftime lead.
By the end of the third quarter, UConn had built a 42-point advantage, prompting head coach Geno Auriemma to rest the starters for the final period. Freshman Allie Ziebell sealed the game’s high note with a late basket, pushing the score to 100-54.
Meanwhile, the Huskies were led by Sarah Strong – who contributed with a game-high 22 points – and Kaitlyn Chen, who recorded a season-high 17 points. UConn’s dominance extended their Big East regular-season winning streak to 29 games, improving their overall record to 18-2 and 9-0 in conference play.
Paige Bueckers makes UConn history
Meanwhile, Sunday’s matchup against Seton Hall saw Paige Bueckers etch her name into UConn’s record books. The senior guard became the fastest player in program history to score 2,000 career points, achieving the milestone in just 102 games. This remarkable feat broke the previous record of 108 games held by UConn legend Maya Moore.
Injuries have sidelined her for extended periods, including a tibial plateau fracture, a torn ACL and a knee sprain. Despite these challenges, the Minnesota native has been a driving force behind UConn’s success, leading the team to three Final Four appearances and striving for a fourth this season.
Reflecting on her milestone, Bueckers expressed her humility and appreciation for the legacy of UConn basketball.
"It’s kind of crazy to hear. But then, I’m talking to coach on Friday, and Maya [has] got 3,000 points," Beuckers said. "So you look everywhere around you here and humble yourself.
"Obviously, I’m grateful, extremely blessed, and it’s kind of surreal to think about all of the people that have passed through here and my journey and how I’ve come to be where I am. And I guess that’s a pretty cool feat," she added.
Last season, she set a record for the most points scored by a UConn junior with 854, earning numerous accolades, including First Team All-American, Final Four All-Tournament, Big East Player of the Year and Big East Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors.
While individual records and accolades are noteworthy, Bueckers has her sights set on a bigger prize: ending UConn’s national championship drought. The Huskies haven’t claimed a title since 2016, and Bueckers’ return to peak form has reignited hope that this could be their year.
