"This is just nasty": College hoops fans react to Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale getting dubbed as "brick sisters" 

Paige Bueckers has been on a slump in recent games. She made 4-of-9 shots against Holy Cross on Tuesday and 2-of-11 against Louisville on Saturday. A fan made fun of this on X by comparing Bueckers, a potential No. 1 pick for next year, to Arike Ogunbowale of Dallas Wings, who own the top pick in the 2025 WNBA draft.

"You’ve heard of the splash brothers, let me introduce you to the brick sisters," the fan tweeted on Saturday.

While some fans supported the joke, others found it in bad taste.

"The brick sisters is crazy," a fan tweeted.

"Take it back," one fan tweeted.

"Do not compare the two. We all know Paige has a way better shooting percentage than Arike one," another tweeted.

"These two might bring whatever arena the wings play in oml," one tweeted.

Despite Bueckers' low production, the guard was a playmaker and led the team in rebounds and assists. Freshman Sarah Strong took the lead in scoring, as the others also contributed.

Paige Bueckers addressed the Dallas Wings rumors

Ever since Paige Bueckers chose to extend her stay at Storrs for another season, her potential WNBA home has always been the topic of conversation. Initially, the Golden State Valkyries were the rumored team, but since the Wings won the No. 1 pick through the lottery, fans have been displeased with it.

The LA Sparks were the team that most felt suited Bueckers, but the team owns the No. 2 pick. This has led to rumors that the UConn guard could force her way down the draft order. Bueckers addressed these comments:

"I think I’ve mostly dealt with it by focusing on having a great practice today."

Meanwhile, former UConn legend Sue Bird feels Bueckers' addition to Dallas could lead to the formation of a Big 3.

“If you want to look at Big 3s across the league, if Dallas has Paige (Bueckers) because of the No. 1 pick, Arike (Ogunbowale) is already there and they re-sign Satou (Sabally), that Big 3, will be up there with other Big 3s,” she said on 'A Touch More: The Podcast.'

For now, Bueckers is focusing on her college career and will hope to lead the Huskies to a national championship.
