JuJu Watkins just led all scorers with a 34-point explosion as USC Trojans blew out Saint Louis. This game marked the 15th time JuJu Watkins had a 30-point game in her NCAA career. With this display, JuJu became the fastest player to reach fifteen 30-point games in her career over the past decade. She beat the likes of Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Plum and Kelsey Mitchell to this milestone achievement.

College hoops fans reacted to this milestone for JuJu Watkins. They said:

"This is why we call her a goat she's better than all of them"
"I proud to say she’s better den all them as well"
"Absolute Queen"
"Stop sleeping on JuJu Watkins"
"Man what this kid is insane"
"She just keeps breaking all of Caitlin’s scoring records, one after one. Hilarious"

Not the first time JuJu Watkins overtakes Caitlin Clark

JuJu Watkins recently surpassed Caitlin Clark in reaching the 1000 career points milestone. She completed the landmark in 38 games while Clark had done it in 40 games. So above the defensive prowess that JuJu has over Caitlin, she is also proving that she is at par in terms of offense as well.

While JuJu may not have the same longevity as Caitlin did in her college career, JuJu is certainly proving that her offensive game is second to none.

JuJu Watkins' relationship with Caitlin Clark

While college hoops fans constantly compare Caitlin and JuJu, these two elite guards share a different relationship. When asked about the constant comparisons to Caitlin Clark, Juju told Athlon Sports:

"I would say I just do my best to be myself and play my way," Watkins said. "I don't really think too much about the comparisons or the pressure, but I would say I just go out there and try to have fun, do what I do and continue to work hard. I think that's my mentality always."

So while the world is focused on comparing the duo, they are focused on working on their own skills and promoting women's basketball in total. Rather, Caitlin goes as far as helping JuJu Watkins whenever she needs her guidance. When asked about her relationship with Caitlin, JuJu told NBC Sports:

"You know Caitlin is a great player but she is also a really great person. And I think when I first met her, she just kind of made herself available and exchanged numbers and was like, 'Whatever you need.' She is just a really cool person for sure, I was grateful for her kindness."

Where things stand for JuJu and her future

JuJu is currently 18 years old and will turn 19 in July. The WNBA rules dictate a player must be 22 at least before getting drafted. Therefore, JuJu has approximately 3 more years before she is eligible to get drafted in the WNBA in 2027. However, she may lose her star teammate this season as Kiki Iriafen may likely declare for the upcoming WNBA draft.

In her freshman season, she already had more points than Caitlin accumulated. So despite a slow start, she is still on par to potentially break Pete Maravich's (men's) and Caitlin Clark's (women's) record.

However, this season could be her best chance to be a true NCAA championship contender as she has Kiki Iriafen also on the team. The question remains, can JuJu win a national championship? And if she successfully does that, will she be above Caitlin Clark in NCAA history?
