Syndey Carter reveals plans to own a fashion line
Sydney Carter played for Texas A&M and won the NCAA title in her junior year. After college, she played in the WNBA before moving to Latvia, where she won the league title three times and was an Eastern European League champ in 2016.
However, a meniscus tear ended her playing career. She then set her sights on coaching and returned to her alma mater in the 2021-22 season, serving as a player development coach, assistant recruiting coordinator and video coordinator.
She is currently the director of player development for the Texas women's basketball team.
With coaching now in her bag, Carter is looking forward to fulfilling another dream – owning a fashion line. Known for her trendy chic styles, Carter has become a fashion icon in women's basketball.
In an interview with xoNECOLE, she revealed her goal to open her own fashion line.
“Yeah, that is my goal," Carter said. "I want to have my own fashion line one day. I want to have my own suit line that's affordable for a lot of coaches that are inspired by my looks that maybe can't afford some of the things that I wear. I want a very affordable business wear line.
“I want to have my own line that kind of touches everything casual, work out. There's so many things that I want to do because clothing and looking my best is obviously a passion of mine as well. So, yeah, I believe I'm gonna have it because I tell myself I'm gonna have it.”
The coach has also faced criticism due to her style, which often accentuates her curves. However, Carter said she was not bothered, crediting her mother for instilling self-confidence in her as a child. Carter also advised others who face adversities to look themselves in the mirror and say something positive about themselves.
