Hannah Hidalgo put on a show against the North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday, scoring a game-high 24 points in Notre Dame's 76-66 victory at Carmichael Arena. One of her baskets went viral on social media, with Hidalgo seemingly also in disbelief at how she executed that shot attempt.

Notre Dame held a 38-28 advantage in the closing minutes of the first half when Hidalgo delivered her moment of magic. She got the ball at the left side of the three-point arc and immediately drove down the baseline to attack the North Carolina defense inside the shaded area.

North Carolina's defenders collapsed on Hidalgo, who had to improvise while in the air. She stunned the Tar Heels with an up-and-under move, banking a tough right-handed shot past the outstretched arms of Maria Gakdeng to give the Fighting Irish a 40-28 lead with 1:13 left in the second quarter.

Hidalgo shook her head as she went back in defense, showing her surprise at the play that just happened. College hoops fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise the Notre Dame star for her incredible move against North Carolina.

"This nasty as hell," one fan claimed.
"It’s just crazy at this point," one fan wrote.
You can count on Hannah Hidalgo to make you go "wow" at least once per game and it will usually be a completely different kind of "wow" than every game before it," one fan commented.

Here are some other reactions.

"She is just unbelievable. What a joy," one fan commented.
"This kid is unreal," one fan posted.
I love watching Hannah play. She’s so talented and fun to watch," one fan replied.

Hannah Hidalgo, Olivia Miles lead Notre Dame past North Carolina

Hannah Hidalgo did most of her damage in the first half, scoring 18 of her 24 points during that period to give No. 3 Notre Dame a 42-28 lead at the break. Hidalgo got some help from Olivia Miles, who scored 11 points in the opening half. The backcourt duo outscored the entire North Carolina team in the first two quarters.

Notre Dame's torrid 3-point shooting was the key to the Fighting Irish recording their seventh consecutive win. They shot 13-for-21 from beyond the arc, with Hidalgo and Miles accounting for the majority of those made 3-pointers. Hidalgo shot 5-for-9 from deep, while Miles knocked down five of her eight 3-point attempts against No. 17 North Carolina.
