UC Davis vs. Washington summary

It was a winning start for Washington under the leadership of Danny Sprinkle but it wasn’t an easy one. The Huskies had to maintain a narrow lead all game over a resilient UC Davis team who fancied its chance of staging an upset in Seattle.

Washington went away with the win because they were the more clinical team in the contest. The Huskies recorded a 45.2% field goal percentage contrary to the 34.8% the Aggies had.

UC Davis was, however, better with 3-pointers, converting 22.2% of their attempts against their opponent’s 14.3%. The Huskies only converted two of 14 3-pointers they attempted in the season-opening matchup.

TY Johnson was the standout of the encounter. The Aggies guard recorded 35 points, three rebounds and 1 assists. He scored 20 points more than anybody else in the game, showcasing the hype behind his talent.

Great Osobor led the Huskies in point record on Tuesday night. The forward recorded 15 points, 17 rebounds and three assists. He also had six steals and two blocks to help secure the win.

Washington will hope to get better in the next couple of games after what was a thrilling contest in Sprinkle's first game. As the Huskies are set to navigate their first season in the Big Ten and they hope it will be a positive one.
