However, one fan reportedly committed a crime.
Man charged for allegedly harassing and stalking Paige Bueckers
As per an ESPN report published on Tuesday, an Oregon man named Robert Cole Parmalee was charged with breach of peace, electronic stalking, and harassment and was held on a $100,000 bond. As per the UConn police department, the officials at UConn's communications staff discovered a series of emails described as "ramblings" from him.
The emails mentioned that Pamalee was from a royal family and wanted to marry someone from the women's basketball team. His social media accounts were filled with posts referencing Bueckers and pictures of a diamond engagement ring. He also uploaded a social media post threatening her friends and family members.
Bueckers' attorneys declined to comment on the arrest. A UConn spokesperson confirmed that the star guard and coach, Geo Auriemma, won't issue any statement to the media.
Pamalee's next court appearance is on Oct. 22 at the Connecticut Superior Court in Rockville.
Bueckers will enter her final season of college basketball as she aims to declare for the 2025 WNBA draft. She is expected to be a top-five pick. She is also a fan favorite for winning the 2025 NCAAW tournament if she and her teammates remain healthy for the season.
