Paige Bueckers, the face of the UConn Huskies, celebrated Father's Day with a special post and heartwarming message for her father, Bob.
She uploaded an Instagram story in which a collage of pictures of her and her dad was included. The caption of the image was:
"Happy Fathers Day!! Thanks for being my source of unconditional love & support. Love you".
Paige's father has always been a pillar of support in her athletic career. Despite her parents' separation, Bob attended all of her high school games and cheered for her.
“It has been surreal, but I think if she continues to stay true to herself, there are no boundaries for where she can go,” Bob said, as per CT Insider in January 2022. “Obviously health plays a big part in that as an athlete. But even if she wasn’t an athlete, if she stays true to herself, which I believe she is doing and is really engrained in her entire personality, she’s going to be an agent of change.”
Bob is a software developer and has worked as a consultant at several companies. He coached Paige while she was young and motivated her to play different sports, but he came to know that basketball would ultimately become the sport she would excel in.
