UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers recently returned to the gym for summer workouts after a few weeks off following her team's Final Four loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes during March Madness. She has also been on the road several times showing her support for her former teammates Aaliyah Edwards who was picked No. 6 by the Washington Mystics and Nika Muhl who was picked No. 14 by the Seattle Storm at the 2024 WNBA Draft.

A fan on X recently reposted a video by UConn star Kamorea Arnold which shows Bueckers dancing and highlighted that the WNBA games attended by Paige have a favorable outcome for her former teammates. She most recently attended Nika Muhl's Seattle Storm beating the Chicago Sky 84-71.

"PAIGE BUECKERS IS 3-2 IN WNBA GAMES ATTENDANCE," the fan tweeted.

The UConn star quote-tweeted the tweet gloating about the record tongue-in-cheek.

"Beating the odds!" Bueckers wrote.

Paige Bueckers shares a unique relationship with Nika Muhl

Nika Muhl and Paige Bueckers often appeared on goofy clips together during their shared career in Storrs, and their close friendship was one of the building blocks of their Huskies teams.

Before the game pitting Nika Muhl's Seattle Storm against the Chicago Sky, Bueckers highlighted the bond that she shares with her former UConn teammate, and the pride she feels every time she watches her play in the WNBA.

"I'm taking a west coast trip," Bueckers said. "I'm done with summer workouts. And just decided to come visit my twin. So I'm excited to be here. It's crazy, super surreal. Just to watch her live out her dreams and just to know that a few months ago we were basically living together. So, it's definitely surreal and I'm super proud of her."

It's not the first time that Paige Bueckers has shown her affection for Nika Muhl and the third member of the trio, Aaliyah Edwards. Bueckers attended the 2024 WNBA Draft ceremony to support her friends, with her face beaming with pleasure after they were picked.

She summarized the relationship that she shared with them during a news conference before the Final Four clash against the Iowa Hawkeyes a few months ago.

“Nika and Aaliyah are like my sisters. They're my bridesmaids. I want them to be like my kids’ godparents, like godmoms,” Bueckers said. “We've built such a strong relationship ever since we came into UConn together as freshmen and it means everything to be here, especially with all the blows we were dealt."

The warmth shown by Paige Bueckers towards her former teammates who now play in the WNBA has made her one of the most well-liked student-athletes in college sports, rivalries notwithstanding.
