UConn basketball star Paige Bueckers has been closely following Team USA at the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics. On Tuesday, Bueckers declared gymnast Simone Biles as the GOAT, only days after heaping praise on basketball legend Kevin Durant.

During Team USA's team final at the gymnastics event, Bueckers tweeted the name "Simone" followed by a goat emoji:

Biles led USA to the gold medal in the women's team gymnastics event on Tuesday. She also has 30 World Championship medals which makes her the most decorated gymnast in history.

Bueckers will hope that Biles can add to her tally at this year's Olympics. The UConn star is also following Team USA's basketball journey at the event.

On Sunday, when the USA basketball team beat Serbia 110-84, Bueckers hailed Kevin Durant. The three-time Olympic Gold medalist scored 21 points against Serbia and made all eight of his field goal attempts at halftime. Durant finished with 23 points, two rebounds and one turnover.

Bueckers is likely to continue following Biles, Durant and other top USA athletes at the Olympics. The USA is once again expected to top the medals tally.

In February this year, Paige Bueckers announced that she will return to UConn for the 2024-25 season. This ended any speculation of her entering the WNBA draft.

Bueckers spoke to Nike x WNBA This is Winning Basketball live show during the WNBA All-Star Weekend and highlighted her ambitions for UConn.

"I know I'm not at the top, at the peak of my performance. I'm not anywhere where I wanna be. So, I'm always motivated by that, always motivated by wanting to win. I haven't won a national championship. So, I'm trying to get there. I'm tryna work for it," Bueckers said.
"It's super motivating when you go to UConn, you only think of one thing, that's winning national championships and you get to do it, so that's been motivating me a lot," Bueckers added.

Bueckers has been at UConn for four years and will be back for her fifth year next season. However, she missed the entire 2022-23 season due to an ACL injury.

It will be interesting to see whether next year will be Bueckers' final collegiate season.
