Paige Bueckers' trainer, Chris Brickley, posted an endearing message to the UConn senior guard after she joined the school's 2,000-point club. Bueckers poured in 18 points in Sunday's 96-36 walloping of Seton Hall, bringing her career total to 2,012.

The Minnesota native surpassed the 2,000-point threshold faster than any player in UConn history in 102 games, beating the previous record set by Maya Moore (108 games).

On Tuesday, Brickley lauded Paige Bueckers on Instagram for reaching the scoring milestone.

"'Everybody sees the 2000 points. Nobody sees the 2000 days of hard work.' Fastest player in UConn History to score 2000 points! Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey. Thankful! Keep pushing! Keep grinding!" the veteran NBA trainer wrote.

Bueckers reacted to the post with a 3-word response in the comments.

"My guy! Thankful," she wrote, adding a folded hands emoji to express her gratitude.

Paige Bueckers shares insights on unseen effort powering her success

The 2,000-point milestone is a testament to the tremendous amount of work Paige Bueckers has put in over the years. Despite missing an entire season to injury in 2022-23, she has continued to grind and not let the setback derail her progress.

Everything from her meticulously planned practice regimen, thanks to the guidance of Brickley, to the countless hours spent in rehab and the gym all paid off on Sunday as she etched her name deeper into the UConn record books.

After the Pirates game, Bueckers spoke with SNY's Chelsea Sherrod about what this feat means to her.

"It means everything, but it takes a village. I did not get here by myself," Bueckers said. "The people... everybody who has invested in me, and stayed with me. I've had a tough journey, but it has been a beautiful journey.
"I've seen so many people invest a lot and do a lot for me, and I just really want to reward their hard work, because everybody sees the 2,000 points, but nobody sees the 2,000 days of hard work."

In her freshman season, Paige Bueckers scored 581 points, leading the Huskies to a Final Four appearance while being named the Naismith College Player of the Year. The following year, she only played 17 games, missing most of the season due to a knee injury, adding 248 points.

The 2023-24 season was her first full healthy season since the injury, and she made the most of it, averaging 21.9 points per game to bring her career total near 1,700 points. This campaign, she has added 329 points in 17 games to become the 12th player in UConn history to score 2,000 points.
