UConn star Paige Bueckers was all praise for NBA icon Kevin Durant during Team USA's basketball clash against Serbia at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Sunday. Durant, worth $300 million as per Celebrity Net Worth, scored 21 points against Serbia and made all eight of his field goal attempts to propel USA to a 58-49 lead at halftime.
Amid Durant's incredible outing at Pierre Mauroy Stadium, Bueckers tweeted:
"KD is unreal"
Durant did not play in the exhibition games leading up to the Paris Olympics, as reports suggested he had a calf injury. He did, however, make an impact in the first half of Team USA's game in the event. Durant, as one of the most experienced players on the squad, will be critical to Team USA's success at this year's Olympics.
Durant, who has won two NBA championships in his illustrious career, has also helped Team USA win three Olympic Gold medals. The Team USA star will want to add yet another feather to his cap in what could be his last Olympics.
Paige Bueckers outlines ambitions with UConn as she continues the offseason grind
Earlier this month, during the WNBA All-Star weekend, Paige Bueckers talked about her offseason preparations to help UConn win the national title in 2025. At the Nike x WNBA This is Winning Basketball live show, Bueckers said:
"I know I'm not at the top, at the peak of my performance. I'm not anywhere where I wanna be. So. I'm always motivated by that, always motivated by wanting to win. I haven't won a national championship. So. I'm trying to get there. I'm tryna work for it.
"It's super motivating when you go to UConn, you only think of one thing, that's winning national championships and you get to do it, so that's been motivating me a lot.
"And just for me coming back from injury being inspired people that injury doesn't have to be the end of your career, doesn't have to be labeled don't put the box you can be great come back even better." Bueckers added.
Bueckers, a two-time Big East Player of the Year, will return to UConn next season in the hope of winning her first national title.
